When you use Facefuel, we may collect and process facial images, facial feature points, or face scan data (collectively, “Face Data”). This information is considered sensitive personal data under applicable data protection laws, such as the Nigerian Data Protection Act (NDPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR).

How We Use Face Data

Face Data is collected and used only for the following purposes:

  • To provide app functionality, including facial wellness insights, or other features described in the Services.
  • To improve the accuracy and performance of our Services through secure and limited analytics.
  • To provide you with personalized  content and recommendations within the application.
  • To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and security requirements.

We will not use your Face Data for marketing, advertising, or profiling without your explicit consent. No identification or biometric authentication. We do not use Face Data to identify you or to verify your identity. We do not create or store facial templates or embeddings for the purpose of identification or authentication.

Sharing of Face Data

We do not sell, rent, or disclose your Face Data to unaffiliated third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share Face Data only:

  • Residual encrypted copies may remain in backup storage for a limited period before being overwritten in line with our data lifecycle management practices.
  • In some cases, Face Data may be anonymized  or aggregated so that it can no longer be used to identify you. Such anonymized  data may be retained indefinitely for research, analytics, or service improvement

As a user of the Facefuel application, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Information, including sensitive health-related data, subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and other applicable laws:

When you delete your Facefuel account, we will take the following actions regarding your Personal Information, including health-related data:

  • Immediate Deactivation and Restricted Access: Your account will be deactivated promptly, and access to your data will be  restricted to authorized  personnel only for compliance, security, or legal purposes.
  • Deletion Timeline: Personal Information directly associated with your account (such as profile details, login credentials, communication preferences) will be permanently deleted from our active systems within [30–90 days] of account closure, unless retention is required by law.
  • Health and Medical Records:  Certain health-related data may be retained for a legally mandated period (e.g., medical, regulatory, or insurance requirements). Such records will be securely archived and protected, and will no longer be accessible through your account.

  • Transactional and Financial Data: Records of transactions or payments made through the app may be retained for auditing, tax, and anti-fraud purposes in compliance with applicable financial regulations.

  • Backup Systems: Due to technical constraints, residual copies of your Personal Information may remain in encrypted backup storage for a limited period before being overwritten during routine data lifecycle management.

  • Anonymization for Research and Analytics:  In some instances, we may anonymise or aggregate your health data so it can no longer be linked back to you. Such anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for research, service improvement, or statistical purposes.

Otherwise, we will retain your Personal Information for as long as we believe it is necessary to achieve our objectives as outlined  in this Privacy Policy.

Security

We require the third-party service providers that receive Personal Information from us to have. This comprehensive written information security program contains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for our respective physical facilities and our computer systems, databases, and communications networks, which are reasonably designed to protect information within these  systems from loss, misuse, or alteration. When your bank account information is transmitted via our Services, it will be protected by encryption technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information. You also play a role in protecting your Personal Information. Please safeguard your username and password for your Facefuel account and do not share them with others. If we receive instructions using your Facefuel account login information, we will consider that you have authorized  the instructions. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized  use of your Facefuel account or any other security breach. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse to provide our Services, terminate Facefuel accounts, and remove or edit content.

Protecting Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directly directed or intended to be attractive to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 18. If you are under 18, do not use our Services or submit any information.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

Subject to applicable law, we may revise this Privacy Policy at any time and in our sole discretion.
